Hi, I’m Darcie. I’m originally from California, moved to Alaska in my late 20’s and made my way back to the lower-48 in 2015, landing in Bozeman, Montana. I’m the proud mother of a son recently launched into the world and two huskies that keep me company. I love the outdoors, good food, and staying active with yoga, dance, and connecting with friends. You wouldn't know it to look at me but I love salsa dancing (several years of lessons). You can find me camping under the stars, riding horses, and maybe even singing my heart out at  karaoke night.

I think I’ve always been a helper or supporter of people. In college I worked on issues around hunger and homelessness, Community Supported Agriculture with local farm workers, and worked two years at an HIV/AIDS organization. In Alaska I fought for the environment with tribal governments and worked for Alaska Legal Services helping people when there was nowhere else to go. This work was important, it touched and impacted peoples’ lives in real ways. 


And I didn't last long in ANY of these endeavors. First, because I didn't realize I was sacrificing myself rather than serving others  and then, like many of you (I'm guessing!), I failed to make the time to attend to my own self-care. In fact, I didn't even recognize I needed to address my self-care.


This is what led me to study yoga and eventually become a yoga therapist and mentor.  Not only did I heal my own “stuff”  but I wanted to help others to do the same.

So if you find yourself wondering how long you can stay in the job, or how to make it through the day when it feels like you have nothing left to give, it might be time to give to yourself as you do for others. 


Or if you notice that you no longer are able to find joy in your day, or it’s stressful to think about taking on another task, or you’re sick and tired of feeling run-down, these are signs you need to take care of yourself. You can feel these things even if you love your job.


I get it. I’ve been there. And I’m here to help.
