Has COVID-19 and social distancing made you feel isolated and lonely?

Do you feel anxiety, low energy and lack of motivation?

Have you experienced restless nights, wishing you would sleep a solid 6 hours?

Do you feel a tightness in your chest thinking about all you want and need to get done?

Do you want to feel happiness and joy in your life?

Do you want to free yourself from negative thoughts and emotions?

Do you want to figure out what's holding you back in life?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you’re in the right place.

You can decrease anxiety, sleep better and reconnect to yourself and others.

I’m not going to make the assumption that you haven’t tried to figure this out. You may have already tried a number of things to fix your fatigue and anxiety. Some of these things may have worked a little or not at all. This can leave you feeling disappointed and broken, but you are not. We live in a unique time as we turn the corner in the pandemic and the future feels uncertain for so many of us. Uncertainty naturally feels uncomfortable and can bring on anxious feelings. But you don’t have to feel this way.

You Can Experience Real Change

Girl With a Hat

Hold onto your hat because I’m about to share something that might make your head explode.

Ready?

You already have the tools you need to bring peace and ease into your life.

YOU ARE THE CUPBOARD FULL OF INGREDIENTS IN THE KITCHEN

(trust me this will make sense)

Imagine a cupboard full of ingredients that are new to you and someone tells you to make a meal based on what you have in the cupboard. You have options in front of you including attempting it on your own, following a recipe or watching a Youtube. Another option is to bring a chef into your kitchen and create the meal with you, show you how to use the tools and offer suggestions on technique. The last choice still requires learning and trying but you have a guide and a coach to support you while you maximize your learning and accelerate your progress to meet your goals.

  • You are the cupboard of ingredients. It’s all there.

  • I am the chef guiding you as you put the meal together.

Yep! It's true, you actually have all you need to begin shifting your mood and sense of well-being . . . what's likely been missing is someone to show you how to use those tools and guide you.

The Program

Navigating Uncertainty is an 8-week Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy group program. During this program, you will learn how to use simple yoga postures and meditation techniques to center your attention, bring yourself into the present moment and reconnect with yourself. This simple act of directing your attention to the present moment can transform how you feel in your body. The result? You’re calm and centered. You respond to situations rather than reacting and feeling regret later. You create more choice and resiliency in your life. You finish the program knowing how to create more joy in your life.

The Structure

We will meet over Zoom every Thursday evening 5:30-7:30 MDT starting March 25 for 8 weeks. Each meeting includes a combination of movement, short meditation, journaling, sharing in pairs and group discussion. Don’t worry, we won’t be staring at the screen the whole time. There will also be a half-day silent retreat on a Saturday April 17th 10:00am to 2:30pm.

(imagine needle on the record player slides off the record to stone silence)

Wait, what?! What is this about a silent half day retreat?

Did you just think of a dozen or more reasons why you can't do this? Did your body recoil from the computer or screen you are reading? These reactions are totally normal when the idea of a silent half day retreat enters the mix --  but don't bail on me just yet.

Half-day Silent Retreat

Anne Lamott said, “Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.”  I couldn't agree more. Take this opportunity to unplug for 4.5 hours. I admit, and I've been there, a prolonged period of silence feels a little scary. What will I do with myself during that time? Stare at the wall? Look at my feet? Watch my dogs sleep all afternoon? The answer is no. You will be supported with a schedule of yoga practice, meditation, journaling and walking. We will open the day together and close together. You will be amazed at the profound experience of quiet for half the day. It truly is one of the richest pieces in this program.

Frequently Asked Questions

WHO IS THE PROGRAM FOR?

Anybody feeling the stress of COVID fatigue, isolation and anxiety.

HOW CAN THIS PROGRAM BE SO HELPFUL?

Have you heard the saying, “the issues are in the tissues?” Well it’s not just a saying. There is proof that we store our experiences in the body. Transforming from anxiety to ease begins in the body. This program will give you the opportunity and space to understand what is happening for you right now by connecting to your physical body. And then it starts to get exciting….

In the following weeks you will learn to listen to your body. This is important because you can create a relationship with your body, allowing it to become your ally and guide. Once you experience listening to your body you can turn anxiety into a tool and move into a place of clarity. Benefits you may experience include finding answers to life questions you grapple with, trusting your intuition and sleeping soundly at night. You can reclaim the life you know you want to lead.

WHO IS RUNNING THE PROGRAM?

Darcie Warden will be your program facilitator. She’s a certified yoga therapist and yoga instructor based in Bozeman, Montana. She specializes in helping people move from uncertainty and anxiety to clarity and action.

Her work is grounded in over 1000 hours of training and draws from her experience with some of the top teachers in the profession of yoga therapy.

Darcie’s personal experience of transformation from anxiety, depression and fatigue to clarity, ease and action makes her uniquely qualified to work with people who experience the struggle of these gripping physical and emotional states.

WHAT FORMAT WILL THE PROGRAM TAKE?

Participants will meet over Zoom every Thursday evening 5:30-7:30 MST starting March 25 for 8 weeks. Each meeting includes a combination of movement, short meditation, journaling, sharing in pairs and group discussion. Don’t worry, we won’t be staring at the screen the whole time. There will also be a half-day silent retreat on a Saturday April 17th 10:00am to 2:30pm.

I'VE NEVER DONE YOGA AND I'M NOT VERY FLEXIBLE. WILL THAT BE A PROBLEM?

No, it will not be a problem. I’ll just flat out say you don’t need to know yoga at all to join this program. You will be safely guided through the different yoga poses at a level that best supports you. You don’t need to be flexible. Varying levels of knowledge, experience and ability are expected. Modifications are always offered, so even if you don’t feel strong or have an injury I provide options for all postures.. This is a wonderful and important question because this program isn’t about the pose. It’s about what you feel while you move into and hold the pose.

WHAT WILL I GET OUT OF THE PROGRAM?

  • The ability to transform anxiety into ease creating choice and a little certainty in your life.

  • In order to achieve this you will gain the tools and practices to:

  • Listen to your body and trust your instincts,

  • Release blocked emotional energy,

  • Clear your mind and direct your attention,

  • Live your life with intention and truth.

WHAT DO I WEAR?

Wear loose, comfortable clothes.

WHAT DO I NEED?

A quiet space without distraction. A laptop or desktop computer with a webcam. A space to spread out standing and lying down. If you own a yoga mat you can use that or you can use a blanket on the floor for your practice. Finally, bring yourself and an open mind ready to explore.

WILL IT BE A LARGE GROUP OF PEOPLE?

No. The maximum number of people in the group is 10.
